This place was quite a find. If you have been or hung with someone pregnant, this gem can satisfy even the most difficult craving.
After a ridiculously good sushi dinner with my beautiful daughter, we wandered into this candy and gelato fever dream in downtown Chico. Suddenly I was ten years old again with adult money and zero supervision. The place is pure sensory overload in the best possible way. Walls of candy, every jelly belly imaginable, an enormous selection of chocolate (my favorite), bright colors everywhere, and enough sugar to make a dentist buy a boat. 🍭😂
We loaded up on sour candy and gummy bears, but the real star for me was the gelato. My daughter grabbed strawberry and lemon, both ridiculously fresh & sweet, the latter tart without tasting fake or syrupy. I went with birthday cake and spumoni. The birthday cake was dangerously good, creamy and rich without being over the top. But the spumoni? That one hit me right in the childhood. It instantly brought me back to East Coast Italian restaurants as a kid, sitting in a red booth after dinner while the adults drank coffee and argued about politics. Nostalgia in frozen form.
What I loved most is this place doesn’t feel corporate or sterile. It feels fun. Like someone built a happiness factory and just let people loose inside it. Great stop after dinner, date night, family night, or honestly anytime life feels a little too serious.
I was so excited to stroll by this in downtown Chico . We’ll definitely be back.
