When our local tanning spot shut down last summer, it wasn't just inconvenient; it was a real loss for a coastal town with limited options. Living on the Mendocino Coast means you notice quickly when a service people actually use disappears. That's why I'm genuinely grateful that Mary Derrick Pardini and her sister-in-law Andie Pardini stepped in and opened Mendo Glow.
This was not a vanity project or a trend-driven idea. It was locals recognizing a real need in the community and taking the initiative to fill it. Anyone who tans on the coast understands how limited the options are, and losing the only spot mattered more than people might realize.
Mendo Glow offers a straightforward, comfortable experience. The space is clean, welcoming, and well run, and the atmosphere feels relaxed without being careless. In addition to tanning, they also offer hair services and hair extensions, which makes this a practical and well-rounded option for both locals and visitors.
It is a win for locals who do not want to travel long distances for basic self-care, and just as much a benefit for tourists who want to look and feel good while enjoying the coast. Fort Bragg needed this place, and it is good to see it in the right hands.
