If you are looking for an authentic, no-frills spot that lets the food do all the talking, El Cazador is it. I stopped in recently and was reminded why these local gems are unbeatable.
I joined some friends for lunch and after deep diving the menu, I ordered the Al Pastor Super Burrito and added a fresh jalapeño. It was the game changer that turned a great burrito into the perfect meal, because I LOVE spicy.
Everything stood out on this meal:
The Balance: It’s rare to find a burrito where the meat, veggies, rice, and sauce are in such perfect proportion. Every bite was consistent.
The Al Pastor: The seasoning on the pork was spot on, and the added heat from the jalapeño provided that perfect kick to cut through the richness. This was not marinated in store bought adobo.
The Tortilla: Often overlooked, but the consistency here was perfect, strong enough to hold everything together without being gummy or overly thick.
The interior has that classic, rustic wood-paneled vibe that makes you feel like you’re in a true community staple. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch at the counter or sitting in one of the booths, the atmosphere is exactly what you want from a neighborhood spot.
The owner was there crafting the perfection. He is happy to adjust to your taste.
This is high-quality, honest food. I’ll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu.
