Review

I stopped at Sakura Sushi House in Willows after a job interview. They are as surprised as you should be that I’d want to leave the coast, but I do. Then to try Sushi 90 minutes from Sacramento and 3.5 hrs from the coast. Adventure awaits.

This is an absolute gem for anyone seeking a high quality dining experience. From the start, the visit is effortless thanks to the spectacular parking, which is a refreshing change of pace. Upon walking in, the amazing atmosphere immediately grabs your attention, featuring vibrant Japanese murals and a modern, polished look. The entire establishment is very clean, and the service is truly top rated, striking the perfect balance between professional and genuinely welcoming.

The food is where this spot really shines, as everything served is very fresh and beautifully presented. The house salad is a crisp, refreshing way to begin, followed by hand rolls that showcase the kitchen's expertise. The Spider Hand Roll features perfectly prepared soft shell crab with excellent texture, while the Escolar Hand Roll is incredibly buttery and rich. Between the fun "Prize Wheel" at the counter and the high caliber of the sushi, it is clear why this is a local favorite. It is a must visit if you are in the area.
